Read 30 Minutes and Complete Reading Response JournalsYour child should get into the habit of reading every day, alone, in a book they are "glued to" for at least 30 minutes. Research has shown that when students are able to stop, think, and respond to their reading either in written or verbal form, they GROW as readers and thinkers! That is why your child will read nightly and respond in a written way. Here's how to do it:

Points of View
Currently we are learning how authors write from multiple points of view.
These narrator perspectives include: first person, second person, third person limited, and third person omniscient!
Support your child at home by reading aloud with them and stopping to ask, "What perspective is this text written from?" and follow up with, "Tell me how you know!" Happy reading! Below is a copy of the quiz we are taking tomorrow. Please be on the look out for the graded paper to be sent home early next week.
